  1. ANTI-SYPHONING VALVES - TOP TIP

An anti-syphoning valve is designed to prevent the fuel in an above ground storage tank being lost as a result of syphoning action in the event of the leak in the pump suction line or from the pump itself. The anti-syphing valve remains closed, preventing any fuel passing along the suction line, until the pump is activated creating a suction which, in turn, opens the valve. When the pumping stops the anti-syphoning valve closes automatically.

  3. CHOOSING THE RIGHT SPRING FOR YOUR ANGLE CHECK VALVE?

It is best practice to fit an angle check valve in the suction line on an above ground storage tank with a top outlet. The reasons for this are twofold: The first is to prevent the suction line from draining back into the tank & causing the connected pump to lose prime. The second is to prevent a syphon in the event of damage to the suction line, but this only works when the ACV is fitted with the correctly weighted spring.

UPP pipes black outer structural layer is a PE100 high density polyethylene, which is both puncture & rodent resistant. Its clear un-pigmented natural EVOH inner layer, which is seamlessly & permanently bonded to the structural layer providing you with a new level of protection & performance, with exceptional resistance to permeation also allows the EN14125 pipe to achieve an exceptional Class T1 temperature rating.
